Siemens’ WinCC in the Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal) is part of a new and tightly integrated engineering package which offers a consistent environment for programming and configuration of Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications. With WinCC, the developer can create a connection between an operator and the automation equipment including visualization, operator control, alarm display, archiving process values and alarm history, and management of process or machine variables.

Class Overview

This class is for the programmer who will be using Siemens WinCC in TIA Portal to create or modify HMI screens and functions. Topics include: communications, tag configuration, screen development, alarming, and recipe management.

The Introduction to WinCC in TIA Portal course is divided between 40 percent lecture and 60 percent hands-on practical application, including development using a Siemens touch screen HMI and WinCC in TIA Portal software. The goal of this course is to quickly provide the student with both basic and advanced Siemens HMI configuration and programming knowledge. The training format is largely interactive and seeks to engage students as well as answer their application specific questions. Instructors are also available to discuss application related questions during periodic training breaks and at the close of each session.

At the conclusion of the course students will leave with a working knowledge of Siemens WinCC in TIA Portal, and the ability to create a customized operator interface with advanced features like alarm history and recipes. Students will also leave with a printed copy of training slides and labs, and a certificate of course completion. Students will also have the opportunity to meet their local support personnel and will be provided with contact information for post-training technical support from us and Siemens.
