Simple Connection, Flexible Integration, Variable in Use
The new Euchner MGB2 represents the consequent further development of the globally successful MultiFunctional Gate Box MGB. A revised design, new and expanded functions, as well as a modular layout offer maximum flexibility. The MGB2 is more than just pure safeguarding. It makes it possible to integrate into one device all the relevant functions related to the safety guard.
Simple connection concept
In the Modular version, the MGB2 is equipped with a bus module (MBM) with integrated safe bus connection. The bus module can either be connected directly to the MGB2 Modular or, if space is tight, it can be mounted remotely. If the bus module is mounted remotely, several MGB2 Modular locking modules can be connected to one MBM.
The bus module MBM is available for connection to EtherCAT/FSoE, PROFINET/PROFIsafe or for EtherNet/IP / CIP Safety.
Flexible integration of a large number of functions
Thanks to the modular design, the MGB2 Modular can be variably equipped with different functions. The MGB2 Modular offers space for two submodules, each with up to three different controls. It is possible to replace a submodule at any time, even during operation, as the MSM submodules are hot-pluggable.
Euchner's expansion module MCM with four more control elements is available if the user requires more than the maximum of six control elements in the locking module MGB2 Modular or if they need to include labeling. Simply insert these sub-modules into the expansion module MCM. The user can connect the MCM either directly to a bus module or as a function expansion to a locking module.
Variable in use and easy to mount
The MGB2 Modular can be fitted to doors hinged on the right and left, as well as to sliding doors. An integrated alignment aid shows at a glance whether the MGB2 Modular has been mounted correctly.

1) Locking Module: Comprising a robust, industrial housing with integrated mounting plate.
A) Submodules: 2 submodules, each with up to 3 different controls, can be integrated into the locking module.
B) Auxiliary release: For releasing the guard locking if there is a power failure.
C) Detailed diagnostics: Several LED displays provide all relevant status information for each module at a glance.
D) Solid door stop
E) Escape release (optional): The escape release enables people accidentally locked in to the danger area to open the door.
2) Handle module: Intuitive operation thanks to integrated door handle that can be rotated in 90 degree steps to suit the installation situation.
F) Lockout mechanism: The bolt tongue can be blocked for cleaning and service using up to 3 padlocks. A further automatically extending lockout mechanism provides space for another 3 padlocks.
G) Integrated alignment aid for mounting: The MGB2 can be mounted quickly and straightforwardly on hinged doors and on sliding doors. Thanks to the alignment aid it is immediately apparent whether the MGB2 has been mounted correctly.
H) Bolt tongue with transponder: The position of the bolt tongue reliably detected thanks to the transponder.
I) Enabling-switch connection: M12 or M23 plug for connecting a ZSA or ZSM enabling switch.
J) Various controls: Numerous controls such as emergency stop pushbuttons, illuminated pushbuttons, indicators, key-operated switches etc. are available.
3) Bus Module: With integrated safe bus connection. The MBM can either be connected directly to the MGB2 or mounted remotely. The bus module MBM is available for connection to EtherCAT/FSoE, PROFINET/PROFIsafe or for EtherNet/IP CIP Safety.
