RTA’s Flex-Drive is an ultra-slim EtherCAT stepping motor drive, that perfectly fits the Trio Motion Flexslice architecture. It is a powerful multi-axis modular system for motor drives, allowing the users to control a wide variety of NEMA motors up to 24 (60 mm) with or without encoder feedback. There is no need for setup software, and the Trio Motion Perfect allows easy parameter configuration. The Flex-Drive is a “flexible” versatile compact control for servo motors.
Flex-Drive works with both open loops and closed loops. The model MSE-408 is for closed/open loop and MSE-204 is for open loop. FLEX-DRIVE MSE-408 is an ultra-slim EtherCAT stepping motor drive, that perfectly fits the Trio Motion Flexslice architecture, creating a powerful multi-axis modular system. It is compatible and able to fit into Flexslice System, the modular EtherCAT architecture by Trio Motion Technology. Flex-6 nano motion controller can work alone, or it can be integrated with Flex-Drive. It can plug straight into the EtherCAT Flexslice system, allowing system expansion to include stepper drives, servo motors, I/O’s and other features that adapts to the EtherCAT standard.
If more axes are needed, users can purchase P912 remote axis – each P912 doubles the available axes. It can be expanded up to 64 axes and supports CSP, CSV and CST modes of operation.
Trio’s Flexslice I/O modules provide a robust, high speed and flexible solution for both motion control and general automation. EtherCAT cycle times down to 125μsecs are supported, and the bus coupler uses EBUS technology to bring all the sub-modules on to the EtherCAT network with no degradation in performance. Flexslice Modules are connected via the Flexslice EBUS and the EtherCAT connector. Total worker connections can be up to 128 nodes including I/O and complex devices.
Axis NJ has had great success implementing these in manufacturing plants where multi-axis systems are needed. If you’d like to learn more about how you can implement this solution into your facilities, contact us!
