Siemens SIRIUS 3RT contactors up to 2650 A for wind turbine systems and converter applications. Thanks to the SIRIUS 3RT contactors extreme ruggedness and outstanding contact reliability, Siemens' contactors switch supremely and reliably. In addition, they enable compact control cabinets with high packing density. With integrated ranges of accessories for sizes S00 to S3 as well as S6 to S12, individual function expansions can be implemented with no great effort. In sizes S00 to S3, the contactors even have the auxiliary switches integrated into the enclosure.

The SIRIUS modular system with its protection and switching devices has been a well-proven component in equipment used in wind turbine systems or other converter applications for open-loop and closed-loop control tasks. Siemens has expanded their SIRIUS portfolio, and now offer contactors to the highest power range.


With a power range up to 2650 A, in conjunction with SENTRON circuit breakers, the new SIRIUS contactors can be used in the generator circuits of wind turbine systems, for example in systems with doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG).


Their rated technical data means that these switchgear assemblies can be used under demanding ambient conditions, for example at high temperatures. A high tested short-circuit strength allows these devices to be used in generator-related applications.


When compared to circuit breakers, 3RT148 contactors have a remarkable switching frequency despite their high rated currents. This makes them the optimum choice for the control-related switching in and switching out of the power generated in wind turbine systems - but also for an other switching tasks.
